Serious inquiries only, please. If you call, please leave a message with your name and number clearly stated and a brief message about why you are calling (massage, meditation, tutoring, or press inquiries). For email, please keep it short and simple. Including medical details is fine, but we will go through a thorough medical intake at our first session.
For meditation instruction, Michael does private sessions for free and by donation only, and donations will only be accepted after the first lesson. No donation is necessary to receive meditation instruction, because the dharma should always be free for all who need it. You should never feel obligated to give any money if you would rather save it for your own needs. If you like, you can offer to cover the cost of travel.
For private medical massage, Michael works for $140 per hour. For tutoring, Michael does private sessions at $70 per hour.

Massage Therapy Policies
I practice non-sexual medical massage therapy for the purposes of pain relief, improving health, and restoring functional movement. Any other inquiries will be ignored and result in your email and phone number being blacklisted.
I charge $140 an hour for 60 minute sessions and $200 for 90 minute sessions. This applies to Swedish / Myofasical Release and to Shiatsu styles of bodywork. First-time clients will receive a 10% discount for their first session.
Please adhere to a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel a session late, within 24 hours, it makes it very difficult for me to fill the time slot that you have booked with me, and I lose money. At the time you book your session, you agree to show up at that time or to cancel or reschedule before the 24-hour window. The first time you late-cancel a session, I will bill you for half the cost of the session. Thereafter, you will be charged the full amount of the session. Exceptions for late cancellations will only be made in the case of medical emergencies.
Examples of a medical emergency: something that requires you to go to a hospital, or you cannot physically move by yourself; contracting a communicable illness such as the flu—or COVID.
Examples of a non-emergency emergency: a meeting suddenly gets scheduled during the time we agreed, that makes you late or miss a session; your babysitter canceled on you; you have a headache or you’re just feeling too tired to show up (massage is great for headaches and for when we feel run down! just show up and you’ll be grateful you did).
I don’t want to make you spend more money than you have to, so… make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to our session!
Proactive measures: don’t schedule a session right after a flight, or when a meeting might go long; add at least 10 minutes to subway trip times;
COVID-19 Policy - updated July 2021
I’m very grateful to still be giving the life-changing massage work that you need to take care of yourselves in these uncertain times. Because of the times, we must be extra careful in order to make sure that safety continues to be the number one priority.
COVID safety protocols:
Due to rising levels of the Delta Variant of CoV-2, all clients are required to have proof of full CoV-2 vaccination status before receiving bodywork.
Clients must wear masks at all times, and I will be wearing a mask at all times and safety goggles or a face shield while closer than 6 feet to clients, i.e. for palpation, assessments, and bodywork.
When possible, during sessions windows will be opened so that fresh air can circulate.
Session turnover will be a little slower than usual—an extra fifteen minutes will be added on between sessions so that contact surfaces can be thoroughly wiped down with a CDC-approved disinfectant between clients.
Hand sanitizer and washing stations will be available on location at studios and rentals.
As always, in-home visits require prior consultation and approval, in order to make sure there is proper air circulation, washing up stations, and enough working space for a massage table.
